Wilmington BLOGS::Hope Now Hits 2 Million Borrowers

Hope Now ForeclosureHope Now, a coalition of community based credit counseling services and mortgage lenders, has been a huge benefit for those who are facing the prospect of foreclosure. They have helped 2 million borrowers since it’s inception.

One of the biggest complaints I have heard when discussing foreclosures is the lack of responsiveness by lenders when borrowers try to work with them. Part of the problem is many of these lenders are facing an incredible volume of work that is making it impossible to be effective for the individual.

That is why I am recommending using a group like Hope Now if you are in trouble. It may not be perfect, but the group has the ability to get through to the decision makers and help borrowers either rework their loans or get into a payment plan that helps them through the hard times.

If you are facing foreclosure or know someone who is, this is not the time to go it alone. Get in touch with Hope Now or an other advocacy group that can get your case heard by your lender. It could save your house and your future.

Hope Now has helped more than 2 million at-risk borrowers stay in their homes during the past 13 months, according to numbers released by the coalition on Wednesday.

The alliance of mortgage servicers, counselors, and investors assembled to combat foreclosures fixed more than 192,000 problem loans during July, a one-month record that represents a 6% increase over June.

Despite this progress, foreclosures continue to climb; 91,752 families lost their homes in July. That represents an increase of 14% from June and more than double the number of July 2007, when only 42,043 homes went to foreclosure. via CNN
